Team leader for Decision Modeling (Maternity Cover)

Would you like to guide a team of Data Scientists in developing automated credit decision flows?

This unique role combines HR management and Product Owner responsibilities, requiring strong leadership, project management skills, and a solid understanding of data analysis. Some of your responsibilities will be to ensure high-quality deliveries such as increasing automation, reducing credit risk and adhering to compliance requirements.

You will be one of the managers in Decision Modeling team consisting of 50+ employees working from our offices in Copenhagen and Vilnius. We are a team with a flat structure and an informal atmosphere. We work in a dynamic environment with many stakeholders. Our focal point is to ensure high customer satisfaction in everything we do. Some of the key aspects that will take us there are automated decisions in the customer journeys by creating standardised processes and minimizing resources spent.

Our team is characterized by high levels of collaboration, owning the tasks as a team, but we rely on you as an individual giving your best shot at the solution. The workplace is located in Vilnius, Lithuania.

This role offers flexibility with a hybrid working model, where you can work up to 2 days per week from home.

This will be a maternity cover for a minimum of one and a half years.

You will:

  • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring milestones are met and projects progress smoothly to reach desired outcomes
  • Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders across the organisation to ensure alignment on future deliveries, organisational priorities, and performance expectations
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to governance frameworks while overseeing the performance and optimisation of credit decision flows
  • Provide guidance and leadership to employees, promoting their professional growth and development through constructive feedback, mentorship, clear goal setting and development plans
  • Oversee recruitment process to attract, select and retain skilled professionals
  • Take ownership of product-related initiatives, defining and prioritising product goals and backlogs to deliver value to the organisation
  • Act as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring clear communication of requirements and objectives
  • Champion organisational culture and values, promoting employee engagement and cultivating a collaborative work environment

About you:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in team leadership and product management, preferably within data science, analytics, or related domains
  • Ability to manage and collaborate with stakeholders across different functions, effectively communicating technical results and concepts in a non-technical, concise, and relatable manner
  • Strong analytical knowledge, including a solid understanding of statistical methods and data analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with data science tools, frameworks, and techniques to support team members effectively and understand their challenges
  • Demonstrated experience as an HR manager, including overseeing recruitment processes, driving performance management, and enhancing employee development and engagement within teams
  • A track record of driving effective product initiatives, setting priorities, and delivering value to the organisation through effective product ownership
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in time-sensitive situations
  • A deep understanding of Agile frameworks, especially scrum, familiar with development lifecycle and technologies
  • Upper-Intermediate English, both spoken and written with solid communication skills
  • A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or another relevant field (would be highly beneficial)

Monthly salary range from 4720 EUR to 7080 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
