Senior Technical Product Owner for Application Observability Services

We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Owner to drive the strategy and evolution of Observability Services, focusing on the needs of Application Development Teams across Danske Bank globally. As the Product Owner for Application Observability Services, you will define the product vision, prioritize the roadmap, manage the backlog, represent internal user needs, and oversee relationship with vendors to ensure delivery of impactful solutions that enables our users to enhance digital service quality and user productivity.

The Application Observability Services integrates a suite of industry-leading tools and technologies, including OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Sentry, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, and Distributed Tracing, to deliver comprehensive, end-to-end visibility into application performance and reliability. These solutions empower teams to proactively monitor, diagnose, and optimize critical systems, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

This role is part of the Service Reliability and Observability (SRO) leadership team, which includes Architects, Product Owners, and four Engineering Managers. Together, we develop and deliver modern observability services which enable our users to enhance digital service quality and user productivity.

You will:

  • Define and maintain the vision, scope, and purpose of the Application Observability Service
  • Act as the voice of Application Development Teams, collecting feedback and clarifying requirements
  • Develop and manage the product roadmap and prioritised backlog to align with organisational needs
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and oversee procurement processes for product-related solutions
  • Define and uphold Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensure compliance with security and governance standards
  • Evaluate financial aspects of the product to measure value and ensure resource efficiency
  • Collaborate across teams to resolve dependencies, conflicts, and escalations
  • Track product performance through key metrics and drive continuous improvements
  • Promote the product by driving awareness and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and users

About you:

  • At least 3 years of proven experience as a Product Owner, Project Manager, or similar role within a technology-driven environment
  • Ability to define product vision, manage roadmaps, and prioritize product backlogs in alignment with organizational goals
  • Strong communication skills to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and keep alignment across teams
  • Leadership skills to set direction, communicate priorities, and foster collaboration across teams
  • Results-driven approach to deliver large-scale projects, set direction, prioritize effectively, manage dependencies, conflicts and stakeholders
  • Financial accountability to evaluate costs, measure value, and ensure efficient resource use
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to manoeuvre in ambiguity, as well as an analytical mindset to make data-driven decisions
  • Ability to thrive in a high pace environment with high level of empowerment
  • Background in software development, experience within Observability domain or a related technical field
  • Experience applying improvements based on Agile, Lean, ITIL or similar
  • Advanced English language skills

We offer:

Monthly salary range from 5200 EUR to 7800 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
