Senior Data Engineer proficient in Data Bricks and Data Transformation

At Danske Bank, our Data Platform Tribe within Technology Services / Data & Functions provides centralised enterprise reporting and analytics services, leveraging cutting-edge data warehouse, Hadoop, and cloud technologies across various banking domains.

We are looking for a skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic and collaborative Legacy Data and Quality squad. In this role, you will play a key part in transforming our data landscape by driving the development of a robust Data Quality Framework across data warehouse, big data, and cloud platforms such as Databricks. This framework will serve as a foundation for managing data quality across the organisation.

You will also have the opportunity to implement advanced data quality and lineage tools, enabling monitoring, profiling, and cleansing of data. Furthermore, you will contribute to establishing a streamlined process for identifying, escalating, and resolving data quality issues, ensuring precision at every stage.

You will:

  • Design and development: oversee the design, construction, installation, testing, and maintenance of advanced data quality management frameworks
  • Data quality: recommend and implement processes to ensure data quality, lineage, and reconciliation
  • Collaboration: partner effectively with developers specialising in data warehouse, big data, and cloud infrastructure to efficiently deliver projects
  • Troubleshooting: diagnose and resolve complex data quality incidents with expertise
  • Optimisation: improve system performance through comprehensive testing, solving problems, and integration of innovative technologies
  • Continuous learning: stay updated on technology trends and apply advancements to enhance current and future solutions
  • Data pipeline management: design and manage robust data pipelines and workflow management systems
  • Data security: ensure all systems comply with industry standards and business requirements for accuracy, security, and privacy

About you:

  • 5 + years of Data Engineering experience
  • SQL expertise: advanced proficiency in SQL for complex query writing, database design, and optimisation in large-scale SQL databases
  • Python skills: strong programming skills in Spark, PySpark, Python, CI/CD (Azure DevOps), and Airflow/”data wrangling” for data manipulation, scripting, and automation tasks
  • Databricks proficiency: demonstrated expertise in working with Databricks ecosystems to deliver, manage, and analyse large data sets
  • Data architecture and pipelines: ability to design and build data pipelines and frameworks for data collection, processing, and storage, ideally with some experience in real-time technologies like Confluent Kafka
  • Problem-solving: strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex data issues and implement effective solutions
  • Agile: familiarity with and preference for working in an agile environment
  • Team collaboration and continuous learning: ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment and eagerness to stay updated with the latest advancements in data technologies to enhance current systems
  • Upper-Intermediate English language skills

We offer:

Monthly salary range from 4560 EUR to 6840 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
