Senior Compliance Officer – Data Protection Compliance

The Data Protection Compliance Team is a global team in the Group Compliance function, located in Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden. The role involves a high degree of complexity and stakeholder management with many different activities going on simultaneously.

The workplace is located in Copenhagen, Denmark, Vilnius, Lithuania or Warsaw, Poland. Danske Bank supports workplace flexibility (we currently use a hybrid work model, where we work at least 3 days in the office). This role does not include a relocation allowance.

You will:

  • Respond to internal and external privacy and data protection inquiries, including providing practical advice to business units across the Danske Bank Group on a broad range of data protection matters
  • Represent and support the Group Data Protection Officer in all relevant matters
  • Be an in-house advisory consultant responsible for maintaining a professional and committed collaboration with the business and other stakeholders at all levels
  • Contribute to the implementation and maintaining of the privacy governance framework, including developing policies, standards and templates
  • Contribute to driving data protection awareness and training across the Group
  • Support the implementation of current regulatory requirements across the Group and assess that all products and processes comply with relevant data protection law, identifying compliance risks and advise on mitigation activities
  • Independently drive compliance monitoring activities
  • Interact with the data protection authorities (including notifying data breaches and complaints handling)

About you:

  • A relevant university degree related to law or similar areas, supplemented by relevant professional qualifications
  • Demonstrable professional experience of data protection and privacy laws and working in regulatory compliance roles (at least three years of experience is expected)
  • Knowledge of and interest in emerging technologies
  • An ability to clearly and succinctly explain complex issues to a non-legal audience
  • Experience working in or with a large or complex organisation is an advantage
  • Are a strong communicator, who enjoys building relationships with varied stakeholders
  • Demonstrate the ability to take initiative while recognizing when to ask for help or raise issues effectively in a dynamic environment with competing and evolving priorities
  • You are advanced in both written and spoken English and a Nordic language

We offer:

Monthly salary range from 2880 EUR to 4320 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
