Data Scientist in LGD Modelling

Are you a dedicated LGD model developer looking for a new opportunity? Don’t know what LGD means, but have developed models before? If you want to be part of shaping the future of IRB model landscape at Danske Bank, then come join our team of data scientists in the LGD Modelling department!

We are on a journey to fundamentally transform our IRB model landscape to comply with recently implemented EBA guidelines and are seeking a skilled model developer to join us in developing best-in-class LGD models for capital allocation, impairments, and internal steering.

You will join a team engaged in leveraging data science to uncover and utilise the value in our data, improve decision-making, and deliver positive societal impacts. Our mission includes preventing financial crimes, ensuring Danske Bank has a data-driven understanding of the risks it faces, and supporting the bank’s mission to create sustainable progress for the present and future generations.

Our team is responsible for the entire model life cycle, covering everything from model design to developing robust solutions in Python, following software engineering best practices. Additionally, we ensure our models remain relevant and perform optimally.

* Depending on your experience and knowledge, we may offer you different seniority of the role.

"Everyone is welcome - bring your authentic and full self to work."

You will:

  • Develop end-to-end data science solutions for LGD models – from understanding the problem and designing the model to deploying and maintaining the final solution
  • Communicate with non-technical stakeholders by distilling complex concepts into easily understood formats, ensuring relevant business input for building representative and appropriate models
  • Participate in setting and documenting the standards and best practices for data science at Danske Bank
  • Provide input to our stakeholders to ensure our models are embedded into the bank’s relevant processes

About you:

  • A solid background in the mathematics underpinning data science and machine learning methodologies, as well as experience implementing and deploying models using software engineering best practices
  • Experience in Python programming
  • Solid data science skills, particularly within machine learning techniques applicable to IRB, storytelling through data, and deployment of models to a production environment (version control, CI/CD tools, model performance tracking, etc.)
  • A deep knowledge of LGD modelling through hands-on development and implementation of industry-standard models (we do, however, welcome previous PD experience, or regulatory experience in general)
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive approach to challenges and a commitment to making a difference
  • Previous experience with IRB models, with a focus on LGD models (would be beneficial)
  • Upper-Intermediate English skills

We offer:

Monthly salary range from 2680 EUR to 4020 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
