We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Observability Backend team, which owns stateful services within the Service Reliability and Observability area.

In the Service Reliability and Observability (SRO) department, we develop and deliver modern observability services and standardized practices to ensure IT systems are efficient and reliable – saving time for both infrastructure and software engineers.

Our team manages Elasticsearch, Thanos, Kafka, and Tempo, which are used in centralized observability services to store logs, metrics, and traces.

This position is based in Vilnius, Lithuania (please note: relocation package is not included).

You will:

Design and implement complex, cross-technology solutions, and continuously improve existing systems
Manage large-scale initiatives and guide colleagues through technical decisions and trade-offs
Lead or facilitate knowledge sharing across diverse areas
Show accountability and demonstrate initiative when addressing large-scale issues; coordinate efforts across teams to resolve challenges members and serve as a role model

About you:

Must:

7+ years of experience as an Infrastructure or Platform engineer
Experience with server-side tech like Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, OpenShift, etc.
5+ years of experience of owning (being responsible for, managing and improving) at least 3 of the following:

- Logs keeping solution – preferably Elasticsearch
- Queueing solution – preferably Kafka
- Time series databases – preferably Prometheus (Thanos)
- Tracing solution backend – preferably Tempo
- Logs ETL – preferably Vector
- Metrics visualization solution – preferably Grafana

5+ years of experience in owning Cloud deployments – preferably AWS
Experience designing highly available, scalable solutions
Experience leading the technical vision for a technical service

Expected:

Advanced skills in English
High sense of ownership and can-do approach, including:
- Defining and driving best practices for a technical area
- Evaluating new technologies to address industry challenges

Would be an advantage:

Experience in creating microservices (using Java and/or Python)
Experience in managing Infrastructure as a Code
Having visibility within a technical area

Monthly salary range from 5440 EUR to 8160 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
