We are looking for a hands-on Chief Architect to join Service Reliability and Observability (SRO) department at Danske Bank. The SRO department is dedicated to developing and providing modern observability services and standardised practices to ensure IT systems in Danske Bank are reliable and saves time for infrastructure and software engineers. As an Architect, you will play a key role within the SRO leadership team, collaborating closely with four Engineering Managers and Product Owners to influence technology choices, enhance service experience, and drive user adoption of observability services.
We believe you are an excellent fit for this role if you have a broad understanding of multiple technologies and have achieved expert-level proficiency in a few, combined with a passion for continuous learning and sharing knowledge with others. This role involves a diverse range of responsibilities, from designing and building IT systems to establishing operational readiness and quality assurance principles within Danske Bank.
One of the primary user groups of the observability services are SREs and engineers who rely on these tools to identify root causes when systems fail or to uncover opportunities for performance optimisation. If you often find yourself as the go-to person when colleagues need help diagnosing slow performance, troubleshooting unexpected issues, or navigating the complexities of different technologies to pinpoint the elusive “needle in the haystack,” then this role could be your dream job.
This role will provide an opportunity to work with following technical stack – Observability Toolsets (Opentelemetry, Grafana, ElasticSearch, Prometheus, Logstash, Vector, Tempo), Containerization (EKS, OCP, Kubernetes), Automation ( Ansible, Chef, AzureDevOps, GitHubActions, Python, APIs), Private and Public Cloud (AWS, Aure Cloud) infrastructure technologies – Networking, Databases, Messaging technologies, Application Runtime (Java, .NET, Python, etc.), Data engineering (ETL pipelines, Data Governance, GraphDB, etc.)
Depending on your experience, you may be offered a different seniority of the role.
