Business Risk and Controls Officer with GDPR Experience

In this role, you will take full ownership of managing data breaches with confidence and precision. You will demonstrate sound judgement and make critical decisions, even in complex situations. Your responsibilities will include evaluating data breaches, ensuring timely reporting to the appropriate authorities and affected individuals as required, enhancing processes, supporting compliance – such as conducting peer reviews within the team –and collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation to cultivate trust and uphold the highest standards of data protection.

You will:

  • Investigate data breach incidents by performing risk assessments, documenting findings, and recommending mitigation and remediation actions
  • Take ownership of decision-making in data breach management, addressing non-standard situations, and conducting peer reviews of investigations within the team
  • Ensure timely reporting of data breach incidents to relevant authorities, internal and external stakeholders, and notify affected individuals when required
  • Drive process improvements by contributing to the development, optimisation, and implementation of enhanced data breach management practices, while serving as a subject matter expert to guide and support effective handling of incidents
  • Proactively collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure effective management of data breach

About you:

  • Solid understanding of GDPR and broader data protection regulations, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in the data protection field
  • A degree in law and a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the legal field
  • Advanced analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and well-developed organisational abilities to effectively manage complex tasks
  • Strong decision-making skills, especially in dynamic environments where changes occur frequently
  • Effective communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills to ensure smooth collaboration
  • Proficiency in English at an upper-intermediate level, both written and spoken (knowledge of a Nordic language is considered an advantage)
  • Prior experience in international or global shared service centres, or within the banking sector, is highly beneficial

We offer:

Monthly salary range from 2640 EUR to 3960 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
