Technical Team Leader for Tools and Development SRE Team in Enterprise Command Centre

Enterprise Command Centre (ECC) is currently undergoing a transformation where former L1 organization is being transformed to front running function that will practice and facilitate Site Reliability Engineering disciplines, such as Chaos Engineering, Performance Engineering, effective Observability telemetry consumption, Availability management (SLI/SLO), Productivity toolsets, Reliability engineering, effective event and alert management having auto-healing as end goal in mind and much more.

ECC is a part of the global Danske Bank Operations department. It is a major technical contributor to ensure high service quality and availability by further maturing organizational capability to handle any type of major disruptive events seamlessly and continuously adopt best operational practices (monitoring, detection and prevention) for all high criticality services. One important way to achieve this is by focusing on optimization via simplification and automation where team leader of SRE (Tools and Development) team will play important role in this space.

Technical Leader of Team will become a critical person in ECC management team as one of the key contributors in our transformation journey and will be influencing his own role as well as direction of department heavily.

You will:

Tools and Development SRE team will focus to ensure that we find out the most effective and efficient ways to solve operational challenges with engineering principles in mind. The main focus area will be to enable and empower engineers and developers to have effective ways to consume full-stack observability telemetry in order to solve operational challenges faster and more effectively.

• Ensure that development practices are effective and sustainable
• Ensure that technical solutions and platforms used for development are effective and sustainable
• Ensure that tools and processes used in the operational lifecycle phase (e.g., availability management (SLI/SLO), event management (correlation, auto-healing), etc.) are effectively utilized
• Establish foundations for tooling needed to utilize AIOps and ChatOps disciplines
• Key contributor to the strategy of tools and processes used in the operational lifecycle
• People leadership and talent development within the team (up to 30% of the time)
• Technical (hands-on) task should take 60-70% of the time

About you:

• Recent coding/scripting experience with any programming language (python, JavaScript, Go, bash, etc.)
• Good understanding and experience with software development practices (SCRUM, testing, quality assurance, readability/maintainability of code, availability management, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with open-source tools and systems
• Experience and proven track record in productivity tooling space – automating manual/ineffective daily tasks and/or effective consumptions of observability telemetry
• Experience and proven track record of finding ways how to optimize processes with automation/engineering mindset
• Hands-on experience in private and/or public cloud infrastructure technologies
• Good knowledge in some of the technologies and disciplines below: Software development, Application architectures, MicroServices, Compute Systems (Linux/Windows), Containers (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.) Networking (Load-Balancing, connectivity fundamentals), Security (Firewalls), Databases.
• Official or un-official experience in team task management and leadership or willingness to grow in this space
• Visionary and problem-solving thinking with a can-do attitude
