You will take and evolve the observability technical stack and drive practices that allow infrastructure teams to debug and trace their systems actively.
As a Senior Observability Engineer, you will work with Danske Bank observability solutions focusing on ElasticSearch stack and other observability engine components.
• Help to ensure smooth operation of existing observability systems, including proactive and reactive steps to improve debug and traceability of Danske Bank IT Systems
• Drive collaboration between Operations, System Owners and Infrastructure teams to improve observability capabilities, remove pain-points/manual burden and implement business requirements
• Consult internal customers to achieve self-service observability configurations
• Skills and work experience of 5+ years in infrastructure support or software development
• Strong knowledge of Linux OS
• Experience in deploying and supporting ElasticSearch stack (Logstash / ElasticSearch / Kibana)
• Hands-on experience writing code
• Hands-on experience using git or other source code management system
The following would be considered as a plus:
• Working knowledge of Ruby or Python programming languages.
• Practical experience in CHEF configuration management.
• Working knowledge of Apache Kafka
• Practical experience with Observability tools and technologies:
• Other log/event aggregation and management systems – humio, Splunk, graylog or other
• Modern Monitoring systems – Sensu, Icinga, telegraf, Prometheus, Grafana and others
• Tracing tools – Jager, Opentracing or other
• Knowledge of containers and container orchestration (OCP/K8s)
