Senior IT Programme Manager in Core Payments

Danske Bank vision is to break down barriers for trade and financial interactions between the Nordic countries and it is on a mission to make payments more efficient in the Nordic currencies and the Euro with a payment infrastructure for domestic and cross-border payments.

You will lead IT program which will enable real-time, batch, domestic and cross-border payments to be carried out quickly and at low cost on a secure and versatile platform as a joint effort of Nordic banks. The platform will allow payments to flow instantly between people and businesses within the Nordics, which will contribute to the strengthening of the Nordic payment’s ecosystem. Efficient means of payments are crucial for the integration of financial services as well as the economy as a whole.

This is colossal transformation for the entire bank and to reach this ambition we need highly talented and motivated programme manager to drive this forward in Danske Bank!

You will:

You will lead one of the greatest payments IT transformations Danske Bank has ever witnessed. With full support from the delivery teams and higher management it is expected that candidate will:

  • Set up the agile framework for the involved projects and requirement for status reporting, metrics, deadlines etc. as well as assist the delivery teams with common guidelines, set ups and support when struggling
  • Identify and coordinate deliveries and their interdependencies between the various projects in the program as well as outside in a wider organizational context
  • Management and leadership of the program with responsibility for cost, quality and deliveries incl. change management
  • Ensure that specific agreement and legal requirements are identified, communicated and complied with
  • Establish and ensure appropriate governance functions for the program in accordance with enterprise policies, practices and on behalf of the executive sponsor and development director
  • Direct the creation and maintenance of the required program documentation
  • Meeting with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding program issues and decisions on services

About you:

  • You should have strong IT acumen and understand the complexities of the payments eco systems as well as implementation in organization
  • Sound knowledge of project and programme management methodologies
  • Shape the framework and organisational set up and monitor their performance
  • Demonstrated customer focus and solid experience from leading several programs across different development disciplines like scrum and agile
  • Solid drive and engagement for leadership, communication, and structure
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and good business judgment
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
  • Familiar with governance models in large organizations
  • Able to lead technological and organizational changes, sponsor and support fast moving IT product development teams at personal and management levels
  • Strong “can do” attitude and persistent in achieving goals
  • Agile minded and willing to constantly change while keeping all in great collaborative dialogue
