Mainframe Engineer (Cloud Specialist) in Finance Tribe

Our Finance tribe mission is directly linked to the importance of efficiently steering Danske Bank’s financials. Efficient steering is needed to ensure Danske Bank delivers on its financial potential, benefiting customers, colleagues, society, and investors through having a solid bank financially.

Ability to improve your current knowledge from very senior squad members as well as learn new technologies like Amazon Web Services.

We have a substantial backlog of initiatives, delivering on our goals to provide fast & correct financials to investors, regulators, and internal decision-makers, as well as optimize the management of the financial resources.

You will work closely with BI Engineers, DevOps specialists, IT Systems, and Business analysts in cross-functional squads to deliver modern technology solutions across all financial domains. Our solution processes a huge amount of data stored on internal Danske Bank’s cloud.

You will:

  • Work with IBM Rational Tools on bank’s core Finance Accounting system mainly based on Mainframe: DB2®, PL/I, CICS®, and Tivoli Workload Scheduler
  • Design and develop new code features for the existing solution
  • Maintain and improve existing mainframe solutions
  • Work in an agile & collaborative manner within internationally (Denmark, India, and Lithuania) distributed squad
  • Be working closely with other developers to ensure development is in par with development guidelines and best practices

About you:

  • IBM mainframe knowledge (z/OS), TWS (OPC) – jobs, dependencies, APPL, use of OPC variables
  • Reading PL/I code (could be substituted with Cobol)
  • JCL – programming, DB2 unload, Sort
  • DB2 and SQL
  • Good understanding of development lifecycle process, willingness to learn new programming languages, tools, and processes e.g.: AWS Cloud
  • Have a high level of personal responsibility and commitment to the team goals
  • Analytical mindset to understand the problem and turn it into solution using code as a tool
  • Advanced English language skills

Monthly salary range from 3440 EUR to 5160 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
