You will be part of our “Legal Squad” in Tax Services, which supports analyses, controls, business development, coordination and implementation of new tax rules and regulatory changes and assists other colleagues with ad-hoc questions from a legal perspective. We are an evolving team with people from diverse backgrounds, such as taxes, finance, teaching, law, arts, etc. We have a cross-country setup, with team members located in Lithuania and Denmark, and we work closely together to deliver the best service to our clients.

Working in our team as a Compliance Officer would entail ensuring that Danske Bank fulfils its obligations to customers, tax authorities, business partners, and society. Our mission is to bring value to our clients through the provision of tax reclaim and relief at source services on our client’s capital income. You will:

  • The usual workday can be versatile and change from day to day, as you will have to get involved in many diverse types of tasks/projects, ranging from compliance with US QI (Qualified Intermediary) requirements to regulatory changes analysis, market review, and ad-hoc compliance/legal uncertainties
  • Proactively take part in finding, assessing, mitigating and reporting compliance risks
  • You will be constantly communicating and sharing insights with team members, team lead, head of the area, and other stakeholders, to run Tax Services in an efficient and compliant manner
  • You will be expected to keep a thorough understanding of business policies, processes, and procedures to ensure the impact of regulatory issues can be effectively assessed
  • You will have the opportunity to take part in compliance and development projects, cooperate with external business partners (including tax authorities and foreign custodian banks) and conduct dialogues with experts across the Danske Bank Group, Group Tax, Group Legal, and more

About you:

  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience, where you have worked on international aspects of the tax area
  • Alternatively, you have overall experience in the financial sector, tax administration, or the advisory industry, and professional interest in the financial services and custody administration
  • You have a good understanding of processes and the identification and management of the risks associated with them
  • You have an analytical and structured approach to solving tasks, both on your own and with others
  • You have effective communication skills and the ability to adjust to a level that suits the target groups with which you are communicating
  • As a person, you are responsible, diligent and come in a good mood
  • You’re curious and able to work in a dynamic environment with many versatile tasks with various levels of complexity
  • It is especially important that you can say your opinion professionally and properly
  • Upper-Intermediate English language skills, both in writing and speaking
  • Willingness to learn new things in a fast pace and complex environment

Monthly salary range from 2240 EUR to 3360 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
